It's the end of the year and time for students to be taking standardized tests to make sure they are as smart as we think they are. I love the CAT test or California Achievement Test. I get them from Seton Testing http://www.setontesting.com/ and have given them to my son since we began home schooling in Kindergarten. You buy the test or tests online at the website I just posted. Then you give the test following the rules, send it back to Seton and they score it. I get the scores back in record time so that I know that the year has been fruitful in school. I highly recommend the test and Seton for the provider.
I was desperate for a dessert one night. We had lots of very ripe bananas in the house and I didn't want them to go bad before we could eat them so I came up with a tasty treat that made a second appearance on our Easter table.
Toni's Banana Torte Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F Mix your dry ingredients together: 1.5 cups of A.P. flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 dash All Spice 1 dash Nutmeg 1 dash Ground Ginger 1 dash Kosher Salt 1/3 cup of Granulated Sugar Then add 1 egg, 1 cup of milk(I use rice milk) and 2 very ripe banana's sliced on the bias. Pour batter into greased circular cake pan (8 or 9 inch) and bake for 20-30 minutes at 350. Take out of oven and let cool for 2 mins. The longer this cools the more it will pull away from the sides of the baking dish making slicing and removing pieces much easier. Try this with a scoop of your favorite ice cream. I'm fond of French Van., but my son love Dulce de Leche |
